Improving and enhancing your horse's health and performance through preventative and therapeutic herbal medicine, natural diet and supplementation.

FAQ’s:

Q: What conditions can be addressed with Herbal Medicine?

A: Herbal medicine can be used to treat a huge range of illnesses and conditions in horses.

Just some of the things that can be treated are:

Q: Why do you use extracts instead of dried herbs?

A: Dried herbs that go in the feed have their place in herbal medicine and I do use them.

However, hand-made prescription medicine is made specifically for your horses’ issue and is syringed straight over the tongue.

This bypasses the gastrointestinal system and is absorbed straight into the bloodstream via mucous membranes. It is the fastest delivery pathway to the cells and is easily digested and assimilated into the body.

I only use human grade superior quality herbal extracts that have gone through a rigorous testing and quality assurance process.

Q: Is herbal medicine safe?

A: Herbal medicine if prescribed by a qualified practitioner is extremely safe.

There are herbs that I do not use as they are not suitable for horses.

Horse physiology has not changed in 1000’s of years. What has changed is what we ask their body to process.

100% natural, plant-based medicine is instantly recognised by the body and it knows what do to with these substances.

Anything the body does not need will be excreted without issue.

Q: What other modalities do you use?

I use several natural therapies and combine them to suit the issue of the horses I treat.

This may include human grade therapeutic essential oils, poultices and Bach Flower Remedies.

I also have links to trusted and proven practitioners that I would recommend that are outside the scope of my practice.

Q: What do you mean by Holistic Health?

Treating a horse holistically means that I look at and assess all aspects of the horses’ life.

There are many variables that contribute to the health of the horse, and all of them need to be considered before a treatment plan can begin.

Q: How Does It Work?
Each horse is individually assessed in a holistic way. This means taking into account all facets of the horse's life such as:

Many other factors help to determine the correct course of action for helping your horse. No two horses are the same and so each consultation is unique and tailored to the specific needs of the horse and the goals of the owner.

Q: Herbal Prescriptions:
Herbal prescriptions are handmade with the very best practitioner only herbal extracts.

With hundreds of herbs to choose from it's important to use a qualified equine herbalist who can select the herbs most suited to the condition your horse presents. These are syringed directly into the mouth to ensure the fastest delivery system to assist in the speedy recovery of each horse.

Q: Not Just Herbal Medicine:
I also use other modalities that work in synergy with herbal medicine such as essential oils and Bach flower essences.
Horses are extremely tuned in to the vibrations of nature and are very good at selecting their own medication and treatment, we can pick up on this if we know what to look for.

Q: What Can Be Treated?
Prescriptions can be used for muscular issues, laminitis, EMS, inflammation, wound treatment and care, respiratory problems, skin, hormonal, urinary and fertility problems and any number of behavioural issues, weight gain/loss, scouring, head shaking and many more.

Q: Provenance and Quality Assurance:
Raw ingredients are usually organic and or wildcrafted. Traceability includes batch records, product testing on the raw and finished product and is tested at the state of the art laboratory at Southern cross University which is the world leader in phytopharmaceutical testing.

All herbal extracts are human pharmaceutical grade made by cold extraction methods to keep the integrity of the raw product.
